Make Your Google Phone Smarter with G1 Accessories

By Garth Petrovski

To keep the price reasonable, T-Mobile and Google packed up the G1 Phone with the bare basics. Within days of its release, sales for accessories for the Google phone were selling as briskly as the G1 Phone itself.

The first thing people were buying in Google phone accessories was more memory. The memory cards, also called memory sticks, are available in 1 GB, 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB. The phone itself comes with only 1GB of memory, not enough for today's smart phone habits. People are downloading songs and storing photos, both are memory hogs.

The next thing people added to their accessories was some kind of protection against damage from getting knocked around or dropped. Sales of leather pouches, vinyl pouches, silicone cases, hard cases, hard plastic skins, and screen protectors took off.

The list of Google G1 phone accessories is quite extensive. People who use their mobile phones in their cars will want to purchase bluetooth headsets, car chargers and antenna. Others might be interested in USB data cables, speakers or stylus pens.

That is just the beginning, and don't forget about the applications. The latest application sounds great - a monthly fee for a GPS receiver application. How much smarter can a smart phone get?
