Are you facing a blank screen when the digital switch over takes place in 2012? It isn't well known but many of the aerials on people roofs now don't pick up the digital TV signals as well as newer aerials. When did you last have your aerial changed? Many people find out their aerial isn't up to the job only when they have invested in new digital equipment.
Finding a TV aerial installer may not be a problem as there are plenty of them in the area, but finding a good one is what you want. We try and make it easy for our customers by offering free advice, so there is no call out. We treat your property with respect and we have a price promise in place, so you know before you call us out that we are competitive.
We are honest when we say that in most cases you will need a new aerial if you need to call us out, but if there is just a loose connection or the aerial needs re aligning then we will do that and charge accordingly. If you don't already have digital TV equipment then here are some options.
Freeview - this comes in the form of a box that you plug into your TV. Your aerial plugs in the back and lets you pick up the digital signals and the free digital channels. You can top up your channels by paying a small monthly fee to increase your viewing options.
Buy a new TV with Freeview built in - the same applies as above, a new aerial could be needed.
Sky TV is a popular choice but only if you watch a lot of TV. Many people are not concerned with all of the movies and sport on offer (which comes with a higher subscription fee). There is a contract to sign when you get Sky and you pay monthly to watch the channels and pay for the equipment which comes with the package.
Freesat is the name given to freeview but picked up by dish rather than through an aerial. This may be better if you have poor reception in your area as the signal comes from a satellite in space rather than being transmitted through the air.
