Watching TV On Your PC - What You Would Like To Know

By Joanne Keith

Many years ago, people dreamed about watching TV on PC at any time they like, and now this dream has come true. By paying just a small one time fee, you can have access to as many as 5000 TV channels and you do not have to install the big ugly satellite dish on your roof or mess around with numerous cables.

All that you need to do is to install a special software on your PC, and you can enjoy the programs at any time you wish. You also need to have internet connection and preferably a broadband so that you can stream more quickly and have better picture quality.

As said, you have huge choices over what you want to see, as the TV programs are spread in almost all categories you can name about, from movie, music, sports, news, life, to documentary. The majority of the programs are sourced from the TV stations in North America and Europe, including CNN International, Espn Network, Discovery Channel, Show TV, Research TV, Comedy Central, and many many others. If you can find a better internet TV service, you also get to see the programs from non-English countries, such as Brazil, Albania, Bolivia, China, India, Saudi Arabia, etc. Although the qualities of the programs from different countries vary, you literally have access to around 5000 channels in total.

Most TV channels in North America and Europe (such as USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Spain and Frances) are available to your 24/7, but others run their own schedule.

To get the software for watching online TV, you will find that you have the choice between free ones and paid ones. Although free ones may be appealing to many people, they obviously have lots of downsides compared to the paid services. First, the customer support is very poor; Second, you only have limited channel choices and the picture quality is quite poor; Third, many of them come with questionable addons, which may either infect your computer or stuff ads onto your face when you are enjoying TV.

The paid services charge you a fee, but in most cases you will find it really worthwhile. They do not just provide you with better quality and wider channel choices, but also excellent support and protection against spyware and adware. Some services asks for monthly payment, but they are not necessarily the best. If you are lucky, you will be able to find good services that grant you access to thousands of TV channels for a one time investment of no more than 50 bucks.
