Ending Your Cell Phone Batterys Life

By Bobbie Sue

Have you ever wondered what kills a cell phone battery? It would be easy if there was just one answer, but the issue is far more complex than that. The fact is that there are many different things that could kill your cell phone battery, and most of the time its caused by the cell phone user. We all know cell phones are worthless when the battery is dead, so let us find out what phone batteries hate.

Most of todays cell phones use Lithium Ion batteries. These phone batteries are awesome because they are light in weight and hold their charge better than the batteries of the past. Lithium Ion batteries, although long lasting, have some evil arch enemies like supermans kryptonite and Lex Luthor.

The first major enemy is the touching of other metals. Other metals, when in contact with the Lithium Ion battery can ruin the ions within the battery and make the battery defective. A lot of reconditioned or refurbished batteries are often the product of the battery touching of other metals. Even though refurbished batteries may be enticing to buy as a replacement because of price, they are generally garbage.

The second enemy is water. Although you and I need water to sustain our lives, water will totally end the life of a cellular phone battery. Water ruins the ion cells and causes the battery to be defective, even if the rest of the phone looks fine. Dropping your phone is very common as most of us drop our phone at least once a week.

Very Extreme temperature conditions are also very bad for your battery. We had a client that worked in a cold freezer for a company and he would tell us that he had to replace his cell phone battery every three months. Batteries naturally need a mild climate as much as possible to operate and function to their full potential.

Now that you know what kills batteries, you will be better prepared to help prolong your battery's life.
