The LG enV3 cell phone is a powerful update to the very popular LG enV series. The only question in if it's the best compact QWERTY phone on the market.
The features on the enV3 look really good. It has a Stereo capable Bluetooth and MicroSD memory port. The inside of the clam boast a very impressive 2.6" screen and a QWERTY keyboard and the phone now has a 3.0MP camera with flash and a camcorder.
The number pad on the front is very nice. It has big buttons making it very easy to dial. The QWERTY keyboard on the inside is also with large keys and they are widely spaced. You can really text fast on that keyboard.
The camera and camcorder are only mediocre. The flash is a very nice touch as it makes it easier to take pictures in dim conditions but the overall quality of the images are not so impressive. If high quality images are a must then you should rather be looking at the high-end Lg enV Touch cell phone.
The GPS navigation uses VZ Navigator and has turn-by-turn directions. You can close the shell once you have started a navigation session as the front screen will tell you when to turn and the street name. The phone finds you quickly and has no problem tracking you with accuracy.
You always should demand good calling qualities in a cell phone and the enV3 certainly delivers. The quality of the sound is very good and we had no problems with the phone reception. It was also nice to see that the phone was filled with all sorts of nice calling features.
The enV3 is more than just a phone as it has a variety of multimedia functions. It has a very nice video application and the music player is simply great. The quality of the sound speakers is also good. The phone has access to the Verizon Wireless V Cast music store.
Unfortunately the phone is lacking a bit in the browsing department. The browsing is good but it's nothing like using the full scale Obigio Web browser that the enV Touch has.
The LG enV3 can be bought on various websites ranging from $50-80 with Verizon Wireless contract. I did search for the best deal I could find online and the link to that deal is at the bottom of this article.
All in all this as very good phone with some nice features. The design is simple and elegant. I was most impressive with the big screen on the inside and the large buttons on the number pad and keyboard. The enV3 outperforms its predecessor in every way.
I was not totally satisfied with all aspects of the phone. Yes the exterior screens looks very nice but I still thin they could have done something cooler with it. The messaging applications could have been polished a bit more and the quality of the camera was disappointing. I also would have liked to see the full scale version of the Obigio Web browser in this phone.
