In the earlier case, there were phones available to support two sim cards, but the major flaw was that you had to switch off your instrument to access the second sim. Later with more technological developments advance software was introduced to counter this hitch and it became possible to switch between the cards without shutting off the instrument. Now this facility had its flaws. Calls from one line only could be received at a time.
