The Panasonic Viera TX-L32S10

By Franklin Vick

If you're about to buy your very first HD TV set, you may not be prepared to spend a lot of cash on your acquisition. With the way the economy is lately, that's not remarkable. If you're looking at entry level HD sets, you probably don't anticipate very high quality from your first purchase. The Panasonic Viera TX-L32S10 is worth looking at. Look forward to full 1080 dpi resolution from this set. You'll have a 32 inch monitor that gives you wonderful HD images and is priced way below others in the market.

There are so many positives with the Panasonic TX-L32S10, that it's hard to even consider the downsides to it. However, it needs to be noted that there is an issue with calibrating the backlight and colour outputs from the main onscreen menu. It's a very simple onscreen menu but that may be a downer for some more advanced users.

With SD and 720p resolution, there is a 1 to 1 pixel mapping capability, making the clearest resolution possible. With this Panasonic TX-L32S10 1080p resolution, there is not 1 to 1 mapping but the quality is incredible. There is no edge enhancement but that doesn't seem to cause any issues, in fact, those using 60p games through xbox and their PS3's seem to really like this set.

The lack of ability to map pixels at 1:1 does pose a disadvantage for those who wish to use the TX-L32S10 as a monitor for text based computer applications. This is, however, a condition that will not be likely to be seen as a real problem by anyone looking for a top quality high definition set at a reasonable price.

I think that this set must have been designed with gamers in mind. It seems like there is no better way to describe the capabilities of this HDTV than to say that it's a gamers dream. You can't find another 2009 HDTVE model that has so many awesome perks, especially for the price. Ok, so what is the downside? Keep in mind, these things were reported, but not proven to be true, so this is just a brief overview. Some gamers said that there is a little fraction of ghost imaging because of the backlight flicker. Most people who have used the Panasonic Viera TX-L32S10 HDTV for gaming haven't noticed the issue. Decide for yourself.

Some gamers have had issues with the sound quality. When you consider the thickness available to house speakers, it's hard to believe that the quality is as high as it is. Unless you're used to a full theatre experience with your HD television, you're going to be more than happy with the sound performance of the Panasonic TX-L32S10.

Anyone wishing to improve the sound production to make the viewing experience on the TX-L32S10 more like going to the cinema can add a high quality home theatre sound system or a surround system with ease.

As an entry level HD television set, the Panasonic TX-L32S10 is more than adequate to the task of producing incredibly sharp high definition images. All of the inaccuracies in reproduction that were noted would not be noticeable to the average viewer, or to a technician, without a reference image to compare the image to. There are some much more expensive sets that performed better, but for the difference in price, the ability to fine tune all aspects of the screen is hardly worthwhile for most viewers.
