Send Railway Postcards To Say Hello

By Mitzi H. Hewitt

Fewer and fewer people send postcards today. There was a time when all travelers seemed to send the cards to family to show the exotic places they were traveling. Sometimes as they traveled by train, there was just time to run into the station and pick up a few railway postcards to write and send at the next stop. The subject of the cards were trains and the railroad stations that had been built along the way.

While many of the train stations have fallen into disrepair or been converted into some other use, there are still several in larger cities that have been restored to show the fine craftsmanship that was used in building these entryways to many of our cities.

While it may be difficult to find the railway postcards of years ago, you can still use the photographs that you take of these buildings and prepare your own railway postcards for friends and family as you travel.

If you do not have your own photos you will also find collections of real railway postcards the can be printed and sent to friends and family. You can have postcards that look like the real railway cards that are very inexpensive.

One of the easiest ways to send the postcards that you design your self is to use a postcard sending service found online. The service allows you to use your own digital images or those found online to design the card. You include your message and address the card. It is printed and sent anywhere for the same low fee.

Once you choose your image for the front, you can compose your message, add an address, pay the fee and your card is sent through the mail to the recipient. That recipient will receive an authentic looking railway card in his or her snail mail box and it was little more effort than if you had sent an e-mail.
