GPS Systems For Cars-Find The Perfect GPS

By Daniel Faust

There are times in life where driving can become extremely stressful because you get lost. One thing is sure though, if you have a GPS with you, you will never get lost. By the time you are done reading this article, you will know what the most important parts of a GPS system are so you can purchase one that is right for you.

Display

The first thing you should be looking at is the size of the screen. If the screen is to small you are going to have to look really hard to see where you are going. Most people agree that the optimal screen size is about six inches.

Maps

After you find a system that has the screen size you like, you need to take a look at its map coverage. It is very important that you find one that covers all of North America (if that is where you are from). The majority of them will cover North America by default. Some of the systems out there allow you to plug a GPS into your computer on download maps onto it.

Directional

Having your GPS system actually talk to you is probably the best way to get directions, it sure beats having to constantly look at the map. You will find that basically all the systems have some form of speech but not all of them have the text to speech. When the system has built in text to speech capability, you will actually be told what street to turn on rather than just hearing "turn right in 500 feet".

Design

You need to choose a design that you like, there is no right or wrong for this. However, if you drive more than one car it is important you look for one that will allow you to transport it easily from car to car.
