Mobile Phone Deals - Tips For Landing A Better Deal

By Waseem Afzal

You probably took time to shop around to get a great deal on your sim free mobile phone before you ever signed a contract on it. The only problem is that now you have the same pink mobile phone a couple of years later. You probably even still are with the very same deal. The good news is that there are probably some better deals available from your company or another phone company.

When you get near the end of your contract, it is a great time to negotiate. Study your monthly bills and see what part of the contract is costing you the most money. Figure out the lowest number of minutes you need every month. Then figure out what new sim free phone you want. Once you know those things, you are ready to negotiate.

After almost two years, if you have been a good customer then the cell phone service provider will definitely want to keep you as a customer and they will be willing to make you a deal to get you to sign up again. But you will only get a deal if you ask. They don't just give away new pink mobile phones unless they have to.

Since you have done the research, you know what you want to get. Now it is time to find out what they are willing to offer. Even if there is a local store, you are better off starting your negotiations on the phone with the call centre. This way it makes it easier for you to tell them what you want and get off the line if they do not agree. If you are in the store already, it will be tougher for you to walk away from the offer since you are already there with a new phone in hand.

Once you make the call, make it clear that you have been looking at what other companies can offer you and their plans and phones. Then ask the company if they can beat other offers. Just remember if you don't ask, they won't offer anything to you.

If you really need another sim free mobile, then you need to let the company know what they need to do to get your business. Review all the plans they offer and pick one that will fit what you need. Then even see if they will throw in some free extras like texting or some minutes to the plan too.

In many cases they will go ahead and agree to giving you a better deal. It especially works if they think you are going to leave. So be sure that you take advantage of the opportunity at the right time. You will have to wait two years to do this again.

Wait until the very end of the contract to try and negotiate with the cell phone company. If you try doing this before then, cancelling will cost you a lot of money and the company will be pretty sure that you will not actually cancel the plan. This means they won't give you a deal. So, remember these ideas and use them to get the deal you want.
