Polycom VoIP Video Phones Revolutionize Communication

By Adam McFarland

The world of the future begins today. Digital technology revolutionizes the world. It's a smaller world when board meetings can be conducted between offices on opposite ends of the country. Thanks to videophones, communication can always take place face-to-face, even if its through images transmitted across Internet lines.

The new Polycom VoIP phone that was just released this spring joins video and phone technologies into a single device. The first business media phone to combine a superior grade VoIP phone with video projections, the VVX 1500 is revolutionizing business communication by making facial expressions and body language an integral part of distanced communications.

Whether used through video calls across the country or even within the same office building, the system can revolutionize office communications. Implementing the phone throughout a VoIP PBX system can make face-to-face communication as convenient as checking your email.

Each VVX 1500 Polycom VoIP phone comes complete with an Internet browser and integrates conveniently with CRM systems.

Adding video capabilities to your VoIP PBX system widens the capabilities of your remote communication. This is especially useful for branches of the company that may be located in different regions. Videophones are ideal for interoffice meetings, as all lines of communication are on the table.

Polycom unveiled this past winter an enterprise video communications and conference platform that allows for broadcast quality images for virtual meetings and collaboration sessions. These are the first 1080p and 720p high definition (HD) quality images that have been introduced to the industry. Images from firms with smaller connections can be digitally increased.

Polycom continues to look to expand its teleconferencing line. It plans on soon releasing a more affordable videoconferencing system so that more companies can begin to utilize the technology across the board. Its planned QDX 6000 will cost around $4,000 and require a broadband connection of at least 256Kbps. Though the system requires minimal bandwidth, Polycom is touting that the system will be DVD quality.

With today's digital video technologies, business communication can always be face to face. This brings all lines of communication on the table, which is especially important given the level of dialogue required for the business day. When decisions need to be made, you need to be able to express through more than words and voice but also body language as well as facial expressions. Technology can allow every conversation to take place practically in person.
