Cell phone are a pain. I mean do you really want to be attached to your cell phone all day long? How great it is when you are trying to relax in the bathroom and go only to have your cell phone go off and startle you. How wonderful it is driving in back of a lady only to have her swerve and put on her breaks and slow down because her cell phone started ringing and you can see her searching her car trying to find it! As the all wise saying goes, the more you make yourself available, the more available everyone will expect you to be. Friends and family will actually get mad at you for not answering your phone once you have a cell phone!
In society today, cell phones are everywhere. People talk on cell phones everywhere which is really annoying. Like waiting in line at the grocery store and the bagger has asked the lady in front of you if she wants paper or plastic but she is too busy having some menial conversation to even hear the guy. Get off your cell phone and answer the bagger and stop holding up the check out line! I hate cell phones.
Cell phone users need to get some manners. How many times have you been in a restaurant only to have two or three people talking on their cell phones all around your table? You want to say, please get off your cell phone so I can enjoy my meal! People talk loud also. Where is the concept of privacy and not wanting strangers to hear your conversation? They talk loud as if they want everyone around them to see and hear them talking on their phones! People are self centered by nature. Sort of like if they do not see the guy staring at them and listening to their conversation then he does not exist. People do not care about disturbing other people with their loud and menial phone conversations.
People who use cell phones need to follow common etiquette with respect to where they use it. Anytime a cell phone user is in public they should not use their cell phone unless it is a 911 emergency.
When you are in a place of worship, it may be necessary to leave your cell phone in the house or at least turn it off if you do not want to be away with it. This is because ringing cell phone will not just disturb you while you pray it will also disturb others. You do not need to show off your expensive gadget in a place of worship.
You have to love the 6 foot guy in the movie theater who is a rebel and does not want to follow the instructions for turning off a cell phone. His attitude is like, it is my life, try and make me. One guy even sat there and talked on his cell phone during the movie and the cell phone had a light up panel that could be seen all the way to the back of the theater. Someone throw a piece of popcorn and hit the guy in the head already!
If you are flying, you have to turn your cell phone off because it could interfere with a plane's avionics. For really long flights, you are allowed to use your cell phone only at a certain time. But ask yourself the following question, do the ten people sitting around me really want to listen to my menial phone conversation? No. They do not.
Cell phones have become a way of life. Cell phone companies continue to work more and more functionality into cell phones in order to stay competitive. But new technology does not give you a license to be rude. Get out of your self centered ways by turning your phone off when in public places.
