Discovering The Mystery Behind Wifi Cell Phones

By Dirk Gloeckner

Often, many perceive the idea surrounding a wifi cell phones as a way to access the Internet. These misconceptions are understandable, considering the name of the phone. With anything, it's always a good idea to have some knowledge about the device you are using.

Cell-Internet phone and cell-Internet phone are two other names that reference to a phone with wifi capabilities. A cellular repeater works along side the wifi LAN. This is what also gives the cell phone different modes, which range between conventional and wifi VoIP.

The switch between regular types of cell phone to wifi, automatically happens. This happens in order to prevent the phone from experiencing periods of dropout. Generally, people would experience this, as a result of their cell phones inability to maintain contact with the repeater, as explained earlier

Some areas especially increase the possibility of losing calls and experiences of interference. One of the types are concrete buildings or those made of steel, which may act to hinder radio frequencies. Another type of potential problems involves areas, densely populated, such as urban areas.

Phones with the ability to have access to wifi, usually have more range before dropping calls. Conventional cellular phones have set ranges before calls are dropped. As a person starts to strain these limits, they come closer to losing their calls. Any indication of low connection signals, easily results in the loss of the call.

If it so happens the person comes into an area with wifi access when close to losing the call, the call switches off. No longer does the call remain on the conventional line, but rather becomes part of the wifi LAN. Additionally, the person has VOiP, which keeps the call continuous and without loss.

Transfers between networks happen without effort. As long as wifi LAN exists within range of the phone, the customer does not have to worry. This way the calls are kept without worry of dropout.

Many places have the service free and it comes with other benefits as well. You don't have to worry about paying for the calls made on a wifi access. The only time you would have to pay is if the service requires it. This is a nice feature for someone who uses their phone a lot of minutes.
