The world has become a much smaller place, thanks to the internet and cell phones. Carrying a cell phone means that you can be in contact with anyone at anytime. Is this a good thing? Well, it has its advantages and disadvantages. Cell phones are a good way to keep in touch with friends and family, but they have a habit of going off at certain times, like when your sleeping, eating, showering etc.
People expecting you to be available all the time may be annoying. Cell phone calls follow you everywhere you go from, work, play, eating and more, there is just no way of getting away from it. Even during nighttime when you want to rest, cell phones continue to ring and annoy you. If it is important, no problem but if it is unimportant, why do you need to be bothered so late.
Cell phones are everywhere. Just walk down your local main street and you will see many people talking on them. They have become part of everday life. We use them for contacting friends and family, we use them for ordering pizzas, we have just grown so use to them that they are part of our everyday life and we cannot do without them now. No matter where you are now in the world, you can be contacted on your cell phone.
The concept of the cell phone is to contact and be contacted. But what we seem to forget, is that when we are in situations like a business meeting, wedding, funeral etc someone always forgets to turn them off, and in situations like these, this is when they should be turned off. Why do people never seem to turn the cell phones off before the enter a place of worshipp for example? In my local church, not a week gos by when someones phone doesnt go off. It happens each and every week, and you would think by now they would have learned to switch them off, as you never know the moment when your phone will ring.
